water, beer, and fish

its been awhile... i'll skip a lot here and cut to where we are now (internet on islands costs too much!)

we are down in southern thailand on an island called koh tao (in the gulf no wave worries). we are almost done with our open water dive class and fucking loving it. we are even thinking about taking the advanced class next.

(this is where we had our first and third dives)

we have seen three 4.5 foot long barracuda, a huge sea turtle hanging out eating a fish, rays, clown fish, trigger fish, and tons and tons of other fish and corrals. we are keeping our fingers crossed as it is the right season to see the largest fish in the sea, the whale shark!

the island is beautiful, the food great, and we have some pretty good company as well. what a way to end the trip!

but its not over yet! more island updates to follow (i know you hate me right now, but thats okay, i would hate me too).

Hey Marc! Saw your post from Laos and made me laugh! When Patti and I working in Germany for about the seventh month, a group of grad students came over to visit... we took them to a local bar the first night and they started telling stories... the louder they got, the more we scrunched down into our seats, looking to see if any of the locals were watching! We were mortified that they were so loud and obnoxious! Of course, now back home, I have gone back to my loud and obnoxious ways too ;)
