Sai Baba

Natalie and I took a 5 hour bus ride to a town in the middle of nowhere to visit the ashram of Sai Baba. I am no Sai Baba expert, from what I can tell Sai Baba is a lot of things to a lot of people. For us he is the silly guy with the big hair and cool stickers. He is the guy who we watched with thousands of others as he was driven around a large hall in a small red pope like car.

Sai Baba is (according to various sources):

"When Sai Baba was just a lad of 14 years old, he walked out of school one day, threw his books aside and declared himself to be free. He stayed no longer at the house of his father and mother and from that very day, began his avataric mission. Not that he didn't exude divinity from the moment of birth itself. His entire early life was lived according to the highest of principles so that his actions and example had a huge spiritualizing influence on those around him. Even at that age and earlier his classmates called him Guru and considered him to be their spiritual guide. "

(The main thing he seems to promote is love. Some say that he promotes love in the form of sexual molestation of young boys and men, but I guess those are the freedoms granted to someone who claims to be an Avatar, an incarnation of God on earth. He also does "materialisations" and performs "miracles". Again, depends on who you ask...)

"Sai Baba's materialisations are a fraud, the hospital is an undercover organization to steal kidneys and that Sai Baba is a child molester."
